TANINE DUNAIS

Tanine is much more than a talented improviser. Tanine is an Iranian graphic designer, illustrator, and writer. She is a true advocate for cultural expression.

Having lived and learned the arts in Iran, UAE, Italy, France, and the Netherlands, Tanine is truly a global citizen. Bringing her own experiences, she strives to empower fellow improvisers to bring their cultural heritage to life on stage. Her dedication to fostering inclusivity and diversity within the improv community is truly inspiring. She performs in several international improv groups she co-founded, including an all-women Iranian improv group based in Amsterdam, working on cultural subjects from the perspective of Persian girls living in Europe. She's performed at improv festivals all the way to India and speaks four languages: Farsi, English, French, and Italian.

Tanine started her improv journey in Dubai, performing for The Courtyard Playhouse in Dubai, where she mastered Johnstonian formats such as Maestro and Theatresports. Currently, she is based in Amsterdam, a vibrant hub for theater and artistic expression. She is an active member of improv communities there, playing and directing on stages across the city, including Flock theatre, as she embarked on a journey of exploration and collaboration across Europe.

With her unwavering commitment to self-expression, she has explored diverse forms of art, including physical theatre, clowning, buffoonery, and puppetry, leaving audiences spellbound with her incredible range.
