Scandinavia is famous for its cold winters, scenic landscapes and Nordic Noir literature – those mysterious crime stories where everybody is flawed. However, these dark tales don't need fjords and midnight sun to captivate audiences. Join us as we improvise a gripping Nordic Noir crime story set in your community: moody, mysterious, and full of unexpected laughs. Watch as your local landmarks become crime scenes, your neighbours turn into suspects, and chilling secrets get unravelled. One familiar location. One unexpected crime. One unforgettable evening of comedy and intrigue. Could your hometown be the next setting for a Nordic Noir thriller? There's only one way to find out. Warning: May cause increased suspicion of friendly neighbors and an irresistible urge to wear more turtlenecks.
Herring & Chopsticks is an Asian duo living in Scandinavia for over 10 years: Aree Witoelar (Indonesia/Norway) & Yuehan Liu (China/Sweden). We have memories from growing up in the chaotic megalopolitans of Jakarta and Shanghai, and the calm life of Scandinavia where we now call home.
In this special show GENERATIONS, we assemble an all-star team: some who live in Asia, 1st generation immigrants, and 2nd generation growing up outside Asia. The improvised stories we bring can be quirky, nostalgic, sad, funny, angry, or happy, but always with a sliver of truth.
Stranger Things Have Happened is an international improv troupe based in Groningen (NL). For over 16 years, they’ve performed nationally and internationally - from small clubs to big theatres - and hosted weekly pub jams. After performing in Oslo in 2017, they’re back with one of their favorite formats: The Waiting Room – where no one’s waiting for the same thing, and that’s exactly the point. Whether it’s a coffee from Kaffebrenneriet, the greatest love story ever told, or the zombie apocalypse, everyone’s waiting for something. But with wildly different expectations, things quickly lead to a game of miscommunications and misunderstandings. What’s not to love?
